With the bank holiday yesterday, today it feels like Monday instead of Tuesday. Yay!!!! :)

What it's up with this weather??????

Being a Mediterranean (I'm Portuguese) I really suffer with the British weather, specially at this time of the year when I'm tired the cold and all my friends and family are now enjoying the sun and the beach in Portugal...

I'm here...

I didn't left.. Just paused this blog a lit bit. 

Not that I don't like coming here but I got to think that I created this blog with the main purpose to tell you my Makers Academy journey. Unfortunately, as you know, Makers didn't happen...

But here I am again and I'm going to try to come here more often and tell you more about myself and my life :)

Happy mother's day!

Well, in the UK it was mother's day yesterday but it was a busy busy day, so I hope that all mummies out there had a great day with your loved ones 💓

Welllll,

It's been a looonngg time since I came here!
This happened for several reasons:

1º  My baby got ill (again!)

2º I had to decide to give Makers Academy for now because I don't have the time to dedicate 100% to such an intensive course. And that decision broke my heart a little bit. It was hard to to decide.

3º We went on holidays for two weeks to Madeira island in Portugal and that was really nice because we got to relax, appreciate the nice and warm weather 😎. But I got to confess that in the end I was missing my (our) routine...

4º When we arrive to the UK we all got a bad cold because of the weather!!! 😷

But I'm back now and motivated to do more and better. So lets do this!!!!

I'm having a pretty good day despite of the weather.

After a terrible week, my baby girl finally came back to nursery, so I'm back to studying for makers academy. And I'm really motivated!!!

Hard week

I've been trying to stay positive and been trying to work / study as much as I can but things aren't easy around here.

My baby has a nasty cold and conjunctivitis since last friday. She has been staying at home with me. So you can imagine that having a 14 months old baby at home, ill, and to damn cold outside to go for a walk it's not piece of cake!!!

 All I can think is: Does January never ends?

Makers Academy

Like I said a few posts earlier I'm a portuguese living in the UK.

I've been here for two years now and don't have a job.

In Portugal I used to work as a Health and Safety Advisor. But here in the UK I think it's very hard to find a job in that field. 

So I thought "what can I do?".......... Sooooo I decided to apply to Makers Academy.

Makers Academy is known to create programmers in 12 weeks. But before you start the actual 12 weeks course you have to pass trough some difficult steps like: study at least 8 chapters of a book; complete the codecademy - Ruby course; and some other stuff...

Then you have to pass through an interview and then you have to do a pre-course that has the duration of 1 month. 

So you're not going to learn how to code in 12 weeks. But well....

I'm now studying for the interview and I'm telling you, it's been veryyyyyyy hard and frustrating. Study on my own a totally strange subject it's not piece of cake.
